The Prophet, Forerunner and Baptist of the Lord John, according to the testimony of the the Lord Jesus Christ, was the greatest man ever to have been born of woman, and the foremost of the prophets. By his miraculous conception, spotless life and martyric death, he prepared the way for the manifestation of the Son of God in the flesh, preaching repentance and faith in Christ to those on earth, as well as to those in Hades. The Church glorifies him numerous times throughout the year, also celebrating his memory every Tuesday.
